Job Description

Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director of Golf Operations, this position will assists with the management of JAG operations; including tournament preparation, communication, logistics and management, junior golf support, and providing other professional services to ensure an exceptional golf experience.

Essential Functions (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. 1. Tournament Preparation:

• Utilize Golf Genius Tournament Software for event setup and management.

• Collaborate with Head and Assistant Golf Pros to coordinate tournament logistics.

• Design and distribute tournament pairings, scorecards and start times.

• Coordinate the ordering and weekly pickup of golf awards (trophies/medals).

• Set up electronic TV scoreboards for post tournament score display.

2. Communication:

• Actively engage with junior golfers and parents through email and phone communications.

• Publicly present awards and speak confidently in front of junior golfers and audience members.

3. Logistics and Course Management:

• Ensure coolers are well-stocked with refreshments (Gatorade, water) for participants.

• Set up tee markers and maintain proper course markings in alignment with USGA and local rules.

4. Junior Golf Support:

• Assist in organizing and conducting junior golf clinics.

• Support the golf division team with other tournament duties as needed.

Typical Physical/Mental Demands/Working Conditions

Moderate physical activity. Ability to work long and varied hours. Intermittent exposure to stress as a result of human behavior. Intermittent exposure to hot and cold temperatures while completing outdoor tasks.

Note: Hours for this position vary. Weekends and holidays may be required.


Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Customer service experience preferred.

Licenses or Certification:

• A valid Utah Driver’s license must be obtained within 60 days of hire and be maintained throughout employment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of:

• City of St. George policies and procedures.

• Solid understanding of golf tournament software, particularly Golf Genius.

• POS system experience.

• Cash handling procedures and internal control.

• Comprehensive knowledge of different golf formats (e.g. match play, stroke play) and USGA rules.

• Golf equipment.

• City of St. George golf tournament setup and operations.

• Customer service principles and practices.

Skills to:

• Must be highly motivated.

• Must be customer service oriented and have excellent public relation skills.

• Computer literate.

Ability to:

• Understand golf terminology.

• Work with minimal supervision.

• Understand and follow general work instructions.

• Exceptional communication skills with a positive and patient approach to conflict resolution.

• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
